When I say we feed our chickens weeds every day, I mean we feed them wheelbarrows full of spinach, lettuce and cabbage that have gone to seed or gotten too bitter. We even feed them the all organic veggie scraps from the restaurant my husband works at. We have been gathering and sharing about a dozen eggs a day. I love to share and am excited that our chickens eat well and we eat well because of it. I was somewhat aware that I was turning into a crazy chicken lady. But then...

Do you ever have those moments were you are having an out of body experience watching yourself? I had one of those moments when a coworker stated she wouldn't eat brown eggs. Then next thing I know, I'm overly excitedly telling her GOOGLE IT! GOOGLE CHICKEN FACTORY FARMS! and I realize I have completely gone off the deep end. I had never even eaten a fresh egg until we got our own chickens. I used to eat fast food daily and wash it down with nothing but vodka cranberries. What happened to me?? I've become an Egg Evangelist. I have been saved! I have seen the light! I want everyone to know the joys of fresh organic produce! I am also freaking out everyone and anyone eating lunch with me. So from this day forth, I do solemnly swear never to yell about factory farms at lunchtime again. ....But if you ever want to talk to me about it over coffee sometime...
