Cantaloupe

We planted a few cantaloupe seeds, which seemed a bit stunted, not growing more than a few inches for weeks. After a good deep late night* watering a few nights ago, I was shocked to see them this morning. They have grown tremendously.

*With the hot hot heat we have taken to watering late into the night.

"A little bit of rain I'd say is fair
But when it starts to thunder they all stare

So goodnight, goodnight"- Hot Hot Heat

  2. Now I want to listen to that song- just like you made me want to reread Love in the Time of Eggplant, I mean Cholera, which I finished today and didn't hate this time.

  3. The minute you think things are growing slowly, they take off. My runner beans seem to grow before my eyes.

  4. You are going to have more melon than you know what to do with. They always start slow and then they go nuts! I think they do that just to tease you!
